Our kitchen
Our home is much smaller than our last house, and that is 100% by design.
I could barely keep up with cleaning our home before and I felt as though everyone was always so far away and separate. I love how intimate and cozy this house is!
That being said, the living and dining room and kitchen is all open, so it was important for me to design a kitchen that was beautiful and more like a room (while still being super functional as we cook a LOT)
Details and Sources
(source list at the end of the post)
cabinets
We went with IKEA cabinets. My stepmom and dad used IKEA for their kitchen and had rave reviews, plus it was about a quarter of the cost compared to custom cabinets.
We used the SEKTION cabinets with the Enköping/brown walnut effect. I LOVE how they turned out, and they were quite easy to install (we have SEKTION cabinets in our pantry and laundry room as well). I also love the intelligent design, they really are ideal for small spaces.
HOWEVER, buying online with IKEA isn't super user friendly if you don't live close to a location. We had to cancel and repurchase multiple orders and make a number of trips down to Salt Lake City. Taking travel costs into account, we would have saved money simply going with a custom cabinet maker.
All in all: if you live close to an IKEA I'd say I 100% recommend their cabinets!

counter
We used a local dealer: Rock Bottom Granite, and I cannot recommend them enough! It's a quartz and I love it. I had our installer use the same for the backsplash and add a small shelf on top. I was concerned the shelf would be an issue but it was not at all!
lighting
It's no secret I love all things Serena and Lily. While my home is far from their typical vibe, I love how their pieces are so natural and organic. I went with the Santa Barbara taper pendants (26" diameter) for above the island and these swing arm sconces for above the windows
appliances
We bought all appliance at RC Willey. I went with a Thermador Pro Harmony 48" Double Oven Gas Range with Griddle, dishwasher and steam oven. I LOVE love love our range. For someone who cooks a LOT, quality appliances were key. I had a stovetop Thermador range in our old house and loved that one too. The jury's still out on the steam oven. It was intended to be my go-to game changer for bread, but that wasn't to be. I'm still learning how to use it. It IS incredible how it re-heats food. We don't use microwaves so I guess it's a blessing, although had I known I would not purchase again or recommend.
As for the fridge, I had my heart set on a Smeg fridge and designed the kitchen around it. Real talk: it broke after one day. Smeg never got back to us but Williams Sonoma took it back. They were amazing and even picked it up! Upon further research, Smeg is voted as the worst refrigerator on the market. Reviews are horrific.
I decided to go with a more mainstream fridge, but as the kitchen was done and designed around the Smeg, I was very limited with space. I went against another vintage-retro style because the reviews are also awful! I'd eventually like to get another retro one so If you have a rec please send It my way! I went with this one by Forno that's white and use the gold handles. It fits perfectly, it's gorgeous, the gold handles flow with the kitchen and it works without any issues at all which, at this point was key!

faucet & pot filler
I had my heart set on deVOL fixtures, but as we got closer to nearing the end they just weren't In the budget. These from etsy are fabulous and I have zero complaints (at a fraction of the cost!)
cabinet pulls
I love love loved my hardware from our last house but they didn't make them anymore. It is REALLy difficult to find tarnished brass hardware that isn't a gazillion dollars and isn't bright gold and gaudy! I finally found these on etsy and have loved them! If you're looking- you are WELCOME because these took me forever to source!

counter stools
Serena and Lily Riviera Etoile. This colorway had just come out when I was sourcing counter stools and I immediately fell in love. It's giving Parisian cafe vibes for sure. I love them so much I got the dining chairs too!
decor
I keep the countertops clean with this vase from Mcgee and Co and a dough bowl (similar).
We lost all of my Smeg appliances in the fire, but repurchased them in white because I love them so much. The tea kettle runs almost 24/7!
I collect the Glenna dinnerware collection from Anthropologie, and thankfully many pieces survived the fire! It's by far my favorite and what I use for holidays/ entertaining in lieu of my fine china.
I've linked more decor below...
