a love for all things home

All my life all I've ever wanted was to be a wife and mom and to raise my family in a home that is not only beautiful, but full of GRACE, love and peace.

Growing up I had the privilege to spend many summers in Europe and I have always been inspired by the Provence lifestyle and culture: a simple, beautiful home filled with the table at the heart of it all where families come together to rest. An intention to enjoy life, even in the most mundane moment. To elevate everyday tasks and chores.

When I was 13 years old I stayed at a simple, rustic farmhouse on a vineyard owned by dear friends of my grandparents in Provence.

Mornings were spent enjoying breakfast on the patio, days were spent visiting the market, cooking and baking. Evenings were spent around the table, enjoying delicious and simple food, good wine, heartfelt conversation and laughter. One evening my grandmother and I walked through the lavender fields to swim in their pool. As I floated on my back, completely at peace....surrounded by lavender and intoxicated by their scent and the smell of their small vineyard, I decided not only that this was exactly the life I wanted to lead but also the culture I wanted to create in my home.

That's precisely where the name With Lavender and Grace comes from.

My intention with WLG has always been to create a space that honors these things. To not only offer inspired and beautiful home decor, but to support moms like me who share my desire to fill their homes with beauty, JOY and peace, even in the mundane.

By the Grace of God, around 9 years ago our pillow covers took off like wildfire. Many of y'all have followed along as our business grew.

In June of 2023, after praying on this decision for well over a year, we felt the Lord calling us to sell our dream modern farmhouse and pursue a simpler life. Within a month we had sold our home, moved everything into a storage unit and our family into a trailer while we looked for land.

The 18 months that followed were without a doubt the hardest we've ever experienced. We discovered that the trailer we bought private party and from a trusted neighbor was covered in black mold and had to walk away (then buy another one), the storage unit next to ours caught fire and we lost nearly everything we owned (including all of our WLG business), we suffered the loss of a dear friend and found ourselves entangled in a vicious battle over our private road on our new property, costing us all of our savings.

Our home is finally finished and we are working to settle ourselves into our homestead and recover from the heartbreak over the last year. Being without a home for over a year only strengthened my deep love and appreciation for all things home and I can't help but believe that so many of the difficulties we're seeing in our culture are the ramifications of forgetting exactly that: the sacredness of home.

To be honest, for quite a while I truly believed that the fire we suffered in October of '23 was God telling me to walk away from WLG. As the landscape of social media changed over the years and it grew to be more and more of a struggle to compete with mass produced offerings in the home decor world, I found myself feeling like a failure, burnt out and frustrated.

The past couple weeks, however, I feel the Lord nudging me to jump back in. I prayed constantly on this, and even found myself questioning His voice.

Surely he wouldn't want me to go back to social media? Back to the stress of owning a business?

But His voice was clear as day: yes.

I have no idea what the future for WLG holds. We lost all of our fabric, supplies and inventory in the fire and I don't see us jumping back in with production.

It's been our dream for as long as I can remember to own a working regenerative farmstead and offer homegrown produce, pasture raised meat and eggs.

....perhaps that's exactly why God is calling me to open up WLG once again.

Once our pasture is ready (not until next year) we'll start raising cows, pasture pigs and goats and the goal is to sell sides of meat, goat cheese and raw goat milk.

Within the next couple of weeks we'll be offering our home harvested eggs from our free range chickens and ducks.

Ever since our little house in CA, we've always had a kitchen garden. Last year I planted a huge regenerative garden here on our property and it brought me so much joy and peace  as we battled for our home. I can't wait to expand it further, the current plan is over 2400 square feet! The goal is offer homegrown, organic fresh and freeze dried produce.

We'll still ship products worldwide!

I truly believe that the key to JOY in the everyday, is to elevate everyday tasks. We'll be offering products for the home that help you to slow down and enjoy the beauty and blessing of the moment (regardless of how mundane that moment may be).

I'm wholeheartedly confident that the table is the center of the home. It's a place that allows you to focus on the truly important things in life: family and friends with a side of delicious food and good conversations. We'll be sharing here on the blog our favorite (mostly healthy) recipes, and we're working to grow a collection of fine foods for the pantry.

While home decor remains to be a huge passion of mine, I do not believe you need to redecorate your home every month, nor do I have any desire to keep up with social media trends. I'm a firm believer that a peaceful home is one that is filled with things that you treasure most and that make you happy. I’m looking into sustainable offerings that align with what we stand for.

Thank you for being here, dear friends.
